info
Not every compatible shader is listed by RED_SIM, and not every listed shader uses the same update workflow. Always prefer the shader author's official distribution page over random reuploads or mirrors.
What World Creators Should Tell Users
If your world uses VRC Light Volumes:
- tag the world with
vrclightvolumes - make it obvious in your world info or docs that modern avatar shaders are recommended
- do not be shy about telling users to update their shaders
- keep light probes around as a compatibility fallback if needed, but do not present them as the preferred long-term path
What This List Means
This list should be read as:
- if the shader is here, users should usually update it instead of giving up
- if the avatar still does not work after updating, check for toggles or material-version issues
- if the shader is missing, check the shader's official docs before assuming it is unsupported
For the actual update workflow, continue to Updating Avatar Shaders for Light Volumes.
